Birth Reports

I never considered that I could!

I never considered that I could!

I remember when I met my midwife for the first time during my booking. She surprised me by asking where I would like to have my baby. I answered: "At hospital of course!" I had never considered I could or would have a baby anywhere else but in a hospital.

I had an amazing birth

“I wanted to quickly share my experience to really say thank you. I had an amazing birth and now a wonderful baby boy.. I am sure it would have been a completely different story if I haven't join your course.

I gave birth in Italy where unfortunately the whole process is very medicalised. Giving birth is an emergency and fear is part of it. I was offered many times during the last month of pregnancy a C section as they could see I was terrified, and I was big time....I was terrified since the day I realise I was pregnant as all my life I heard my mother horrible story and all my three sister had been emotionally traumatised during labour/birth all very difficult, long and painful experience. As the youngest female of the family I was sure it was going to be the same. I join your course, did the homework and try to relax as much as possible.. When I heard the first "movement"...can't even call them surges as they were so mild. I guess all the work I did started to pay off, my instinct took over and I knew what I had to do. I carry on doing my own things, did the laundry, went to watch my nieces swimming, I even had a beautician appointment at 8pm (and have my baby at 2.30am by the way) and just keep on walking and walking and walking and moving).

'Baby knows best'

“I just wanted to let you know that we had our baby girl Wednesday morning. Possibly due to the baby lying back to back, I felt the discomfort exclusively in my back, which led to the midwife on the phone initially telling me that I was not in labour.

So, to cut a long story short, by the time a midwife came out to me 3 hours later I was already 7cm dilated. She then couldn't get another midwife to me quickly enough so accompanied me to the birth centre instead. The midwives there were brilliant & I ended up having my baby girl in the birthing pool approximately 7 hours after we made that first telephone call.

It was a truly wonderful experience

“I wanted to thank you for your course that my husband and I attended a couple of years ago and to let you know that our second hypnobirthing baby was born on the 4th of July.

I love you for the confidence that you instilled in me

“As a result of the belief and confidence that you instilled in us and in me I managed to stand up for our rights despite the hospital and indeed national policy of inducing a pregnant woman ten days after her due date.

We listened to my body - which was gave us a due date worked out in accordance with my last period (rather than the due date that the hospital deduces from a scan).  Thus, despite being due on the first of August, we were still awaiting our baby on the weekend of the 12/13th of August.  On the afternoon of the 16th my mucus plug came out, and a few hours later (with an acupuncture session in between) my waters broke (at 10pm).
