I had an amazing birth

“I wanted to quickly share my experience to really say thank you. I had an amazing birth and now a wonderful baby boy.. I am sure it would have been a completely different story if I haven’t join your course.

I gave birth in Italy where unfortunately the whole process is very medicalised. Giving birth is an emergency and fear is part of it. I was offered many times during the last month of pregnancy a C section as they could see I was terrified, and I was big time….I was terrified since the day I realise I was pregnant as all my life I heard my mother horrible story and all my three sister had been emotionally traumatised during labour/birth all very difficult, long and painful experience. As the youngest female of the family I was sure it was going to be the same. I join your course, did the homework and try to relax as much as possible.. When I heard the first “movement”…can’t even call them surges as they were so mild. I guess all the work I did started to pay off, my instinct took over and I knew what I had to do. I carry on doing my own things, did the laundry, went to watch my nieces swimming, I even had a beautician appointment at 8pm (and have my baby at 2.30am by the way) and just keep on walking and walking and walking and moving).

I didn’t want to go into hospital as the surges were so mild and I wanted to stay at home as long as possible but my sister insisted as they were every 2/3 min. I forgot to say that I was booked to be induced the day after so again nature took over..

As my sister (who has 3 babies) was lovingly insisting me to go to hospital, I agree and well, I was well on my way. I had my baby 2 hours later, with a 2 hours labour which was virtually pain free and very natural, I had no pain relief and really didn’t ask for it.

I’m sorry my English is not my first language but really wanted to pass on that if I can make it, everybody can and thank you.”
